In 2012, Geneva Switzerland based SGS, the world’s leading inspection, verification, testing, and certification company, accredited CB Group as the first company in the Caribbean to be certified for:
1) ISO 9001:2008 (Quality Management Systems)
2) HACCP (Food Safety)
3) GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)
In 2020, we are proud to have achieved SQF (Safe Quality Foods) certification at our pork facilities Copperwood Farms Limited and Newport Genetics Limited.
ISO is our way to check ourselves against the ever-evolving needs and wants of our customers, while maintaining consistency in meeting all government and regulatory requirements. HACCP certification is strictly about food safety, which means we take a systematic preventative approach to hazards in our food products. We do this by continuously measuring and analyzing the raw materials we use, the suppliers we work with and the way in which products are handled. Most importantly, we train our team extensively to keep our foods safe.
GMP doesn’t simply look at food safety but looks at all our manufacturing processes to see whether or not we are conforming to industry best practices, minimizing risk, and meeting regulatory agency guidelines, all in an effort to consistently produce top quality products.

The SQF (Safe Quality Foods) program is a rigorous global food safety and quality program and it is the only Global Food Safety Initiative recognized program to offer certification from farm all the way to fork. The SQF family of food safety and quality codes are designed to meet industry, customer, and regulatory requirements for all sectors of the food supply chain.
